Free-ride in the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena
Off-piste skiing fun around the Zugspitze
The region surrounding the Sporthotel Loisach in the foothills of the Zugspitze in Lermoos in Tyrol is also an excellent location for off-piste skiers and ambitious free-riders.
We - Karl and Hillo Rieder - your hosts at the Loisach, are self-confessed winter sports enthusiasts. We love the snow-covered natural scenery and mountains. We enjoy getting out in the fresh air whether it's going cross-country skiing, skiing or partaking in other types of winter sports, but we can't imagine anything better than making those first tracks in the fresh snow of a slope in the blazing sunshine and the bracing cold air! If you share our tastes, the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena skiing region is the right place for your skiing holiday.
Deep, untouched snow - crowd-free slopes
For those seeking adventure, action and adrenaline, the free-ride tracks in the Tyrloean Zugspitz Arena are the first port of call. Deep, untouched snow, descents without a soul in sight, and a breathtaking Alpine panorama are all on offer here in the Tyrolean mountains.
Free-ride tracks and tours in the Zugspitz Arena, Tyrol
The free-ride tracks on the Grubigstein in Lermoos are an insider's tip and already popular with connoisseurs. The best news: the Grubigstein lift is just a three minute walk from the Sporthotel Loisach.
The Zugspitzplatt glacier area is also a hot tip for off-piste skiers who are looking for enjoyable skiing away from the slopes, and the Heiterwang and Biberwier Ehrwald skiing areas are also home to some very challenging downhill runs for off-piste skiers which are akin to a ski tour.
Experience and inside knowledge at the Loisach
As passionate ski tourers and free-riders who have been exploring and enjoying the Tyrloean Zugspitz Arena for many years, we are more than pleased to hand on our tips and insider knowledge to the guests at our Loisach. We are also consistently in the know about the latest conditions and current snow levels.
Priority number one on the piste: safety
Hitting the snow away from the supervised pistes entails risks - and that includes experienced free-riders. That is why getting the latest information about the weather conditions and the danger of avalanches each day is very important, as well as wearing the right safety equipment, and only exploring new routes with experienced guides!
